Originally they would have been set into wooden shelving and display cases in a chemists shop. This particular set are new old stock and have never been used. The makers name is stamped on the back - WM Potter & sons, Aldersgate, London, EO.
Made of laminated board with gold background ( a label to the back of one says they have real gold bevelled edges). The lovely rounded font is in black.
